Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using StitchStash (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.

2. What StitchStash does

StitchStash converts a photo you upload into a stitch-ready needlepoint chart: a thread-matched color palette, a stitched preview, and a printable PDF. Your first 5 conversions are free; after that, each new pattern is a one-time charge of $2.99 (see Pricing). There is no subscription — you’re only ever charged when you convert a pattern.

3. Your account

You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. We may require email confirmation before your account can convert patterns, and we reserve the right to refuse service, close accounts, or limit free-tier access to prevent abuse (for example, creating multiple accounts to bypass the free-conversion limit).

4. Payments

Paid conversions are processed by Stripe. We don’t store your card details — Stripe handles that directly. Charges are per-pattern and one-time; because the conversion happens (and compute is spent) immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion for a failed or undelivered conversion. Pricing may change; the price in effect at the time you convert a pattern is the price you pay for that pattern.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos you upload and the patterns generated from them. By uploading a photo, you grant StitchStash a limited license to store, process, and display that photo and the resulting pattern back to you as needed to provide the Service. Patterns and stash inventory are private by default. If you explicitly choose to make a pattern or your stash public (via the sharing controls in the app), you’re granting other visitors the ability to view that content, and you’re responsible for making sure you have the rights to share the photo you uploaded.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload or publicly share content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, or is sexually explicit, exploitative, or otherwise inappropriate.
• Circumvent the free-conversion limit through multiple accounts or disposable email addresses.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service’s APIs beyond normal use of the app.

Publicly shared content may be automatically screened; content flagged as inappropriate won’t be shown publicly. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section.

7. Intellectual property

StitchStash, its branding, and the underlying software (including the thread-matching and chart-generation technology) belong to us or our licensors. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our software or brand beyond using the Service as intended.

8. Third-party services

We rely on third-party providers to run StitchStash, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (accounts, database, file storage), and PostHog (product analytics). Their handling of your information is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we share with them.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Thread-matching is an automated best-effort estimate — we don’t guarantee that a matched thread code will be an exact match to a physical skein, since manufacturers’ dye lots vary. To the fullest extent permitted by law, StitchStash isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are abusing the Service.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [State/Country — to be confirmed], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
